Short version: I collect as little as possible, I do not sell anything about you, and you can leave whenever you want.
Here is the longer version, in plain language.
What I collect
Your name and email address, if you give them to me. That happens when you subscribe to a letter, take the quiz, or send a message through the contact page. Nothing is collected beyond what you type in.
Basic site analytics. Which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device they use. This is aggregate. It does not tell me who you are.
Standard technical data your browser sends to any website, like IP address and browser type.
That is the whole list. There is no account to create, no profile being built, and no tracking of you across other websites.
Why I collect it
To send you the letter you asked for.
To answer you when you write to me.
To understand which pages are useful so I can write better ones.
That is it.
Who else sees it
My email platform, beehiiv, stores subscriber names and email addresses so the letters can be delivered.
My analytics provider processes visit data.
My web host stores the site.
Each of these is a service provider doing a specific job. None of them get your information for their own marketing.
I do not sell your information. I do not rent it. I do not trade it. Not now, not later.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep basic things working and to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
Your choices
Unsubscribe any time. Every letter has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. No hoops, no exit survey, no hard feelings.
Ask me what I have on you, and I will tell you.
Ask me to delete it, and I will.
Either request goes to russ@nextstepnext.com, and I will handle it promptly.
Children
This site is built for working adults and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, I will update the date at the top. If it changes in a way that really matters, I will tell subscribers directly.
