Hi friend,
ANCHOR
Every time someone gives you their email address, they hand you a little piece of their attention and their trust. That’s the ground we stand on. Our job is to treat it kindly.
WALL
Then you go to send your first newsletter and the questions pile up. What’s required? Do I need an address at the bottom? What are SPF and DKIM? How do I automate a welcome email without it feeling like spam? It’s easy to freeze or hit send and hope it’s right.
SNAP
Here’s what clicked for me: you don’t have to figure it all out from scratch. The inbox providers and the law already have a structure and system in place that keep you honest. Follow it step by step, and every email you send is appropriate, trusted, and ready to automate.
NEXTSTEP
Send yourself a test email and check the footer. It takes about five minutes. Open your latest email as a subscriber would, scroll to the bottom, and look for two things: your physical mailing address and a visible unsubscribe link. Click the link and make sure it works. Making it easy to leave is one of the kindest things you can do, and the people who stay are the ones who truly want to hear from you.
Want the full system? The Nextstep Crew community has three new posts, each with a simple checklist:
-
EmailYourBrand: prove your emails are really from you, keep spam complaints low, and set honest expectations.
-
FunnelYourBrand: ask for less, show the full price early, and let trust do the selling.
-
TextYourBrand: asking permission first, texting at kind hours, and making “stop” effortless.
